I've just published a brand-new video entitled "Beware of Shallow Astrotheology."

In it, I address what I sometimes refer to as "shallow astrotheology."

In my 2017 book, Astrotheology for Life, I said:

Unfortunately, pointing out a connection of mythological characters or events to the motions and cycles of the sun (and perhaps at times the moon) is about as far as most popular "astrotheology" goes.

This shallowness of analysis is unfortunate for a few reasons.

[. . .] it goes far enough to undermine the foundations of the literal-historical interpretation (although not far enough to decisively refute the literal and historical approach), while not going far enough to reveal the incredible outlines of the esoteric system and its glorious purpose.

Shallow astrotheology thus serves a primarily negative purpose (casting doubt upon the framework of literalism) without a corresponding positive purpose to replace the decrepit structure.

This brings us to a third and related point -- shallow astrotheology as it is usually presented in popular works does not provide much of direct value to our daily lives.

In this video, I address some of the shallow astrotheology arguments that have been around for well over 100 years, which are seriously flawed (and actually even harmful in some ways), and yet which continue to be spread around.

Then I point towards some of the very positive and very uplifting and very empowering purposes of the profound wisdom which was given to humanity as a precious inheritance, an ancient treasure, in the world's ancient myths and sacred stories.

I hope this video will be a positive message for all who watch it, and I wish you -- you specifically, reading this right now -- good health, good spiritual and psychic health especially, as we navigate this grievous situation.
